The weather is finally improving and I am happy spring has arrived. I think we are all looking forward to putting some bullets down range and seeing our friends again!
There is plenty of work to do at the range after our hard winter. Remember all help is appreciated and we will meet for a work day every Saturday before the 1st Sunday shoot. In other words, April 12 will be the next workday.
Matt Valentine has agreed to become our new treasurer and we are very happy that he agreed to assume these duties.
Our current treasurer, Two Moons B. Hinde has done an excellent job, but due to other obligations, has asked to be replaced. We appreciate the job he did for us, thank you, Two Moons B. Hinde.
Saturday, March 29, Robert Taylor, VP of Cimarron Firearms, will be at Dongs from 9-6pm. He will be there to meet you and answer any of your questions. Dress cowboy/cowgirl and be eligible for a drawing for "best dressed".
JAKES, Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship is looking for some help with cowboy action training for a group of 300 to 400 youths on May 17 in Grove, Ok. If you are interested, contact Shane Berry at shanehc@hughes.net .
The time to sign up for your 2008 membership to ITSASS has been extended to the end of May, so no more excuses! Forms will be available at the range or you can print them off the ITSASS web site.
I understand that Burly Bill, our range officer, has graciously offered to serve us chili after the shoot on March 30. I sure don't want to miss that and I plan to bring some Fritos and crackers to go with the chili!! We will be shooting three main stages with "side matches" in between each stage. After the match, we will shoot pocket pistols and derringers so we can all practice before Land Run in April. Sounds like fun, doesn't it!
